  2. We had the technology to make high altitude bombers, aircraft carriers, submarines, and atomic bombs, but we couldn't figure out a cab over. A slide out engine seems like more of an engineering challenge than a tilting cab.

  3. In the 1970's, there was a truck called a Paymaster that took this idea one step further. The entire power module (engine, transmission, and rear axles) could be easily rolled out and be replaced with a new power module in about 2 hours, thus minimizing the truck's down time. Unfortunately, this strange and modernistic concept never caught on and only a few were produced, mainly for Ryder Systems.
