a 3 mile brick-paved section of the Lincoln highway exists in Omaha Nebraska

The section was paved with lower layer of concrete and a top surface of bricks as part of a surface improvement project in 1920.

  1. Quite impressive the NDOR (Now NDOT) organization preserved this section of West Omaha Lincoln Highway in its present form. In the same area you can find the roadbed of the original transcontinental railroad, as well as the transcontinental telephone line. All within hundreds of feet of one another.
